Wall Sweep Surface Pattern

I can't figure out why the wall sweep surface pattern does not appear the same as the wall surface pattern in my plan views.

Material is the same for both, wall and wall sweep.

They appear correct in 3D, except when you select the wall then the wall sweep appears darker.

There are no filters or VG overrides for Wall or Wall Sweep.

The same material is set as default in the Object Styles, and also again set in the type properties of the wall and wall sweep.

Shouldn't these two appear the same in the plan views? Any thoughts?

Is the Cut Plane of the Plan View actually intersecting the Wall Sweep?

...if it is, then use the Join Geometry tool to remove the visible edge between them.

@barthbradley no, the view range is set above the wall and the dashed line that you see is the face of the wall that is hidden under the corbel. I don't have the problem with the line (I actually want to see that line).

The problem I have is only the surface color which doesn't appear the same. Both, the wall and the wall sweep, should have the same color.

I suspect a graphic override.  Post the file.  Shouldn't take long to figure out what's going on.

@sdijanovic

They are the same pattern but different categories (walls are special!)

In plan view (same applies in 3D view) ...the shade you are seeing is the  result of the view range setting and the way top and bottom edge of a wall behave... When it is a projection view and wall is not cut, the top and bottom DO NOT follow the surface pattern  set in the material or object style. This behavior you can also see when you introduce wall openings (some/many do not like it but that's the way walls behave)...the way around this is to use paint tool and apply to top and bottom.

For the 3D view; there is nothing wrong with the pattern. When you select the wall or an element in 3D it switch to blue transparent, The darker color you see is the result of Tinting effect resulting from the color overlay of the multiple surfaces  (That of the wall and that of the sweep) … If you select the wall and sweep and orbit/ rotate  the view you will notice that effect better

You can either:
...Use paint tool to paint the surface.
...create parts that would show the surface patterns, but walls unjoin also. Then use linework to clean up/show lines as you want them.

@RDAOU I know that I can always paint wall surface but I just assumed that the wall sweep would behave the same as the wall seeing how the wall sweep is a sub-category of the wall. I thought I was missing a step somewhere but as it turns out, that's just how Autodesk intended it to be. Thanks for your explanation.

Ow, I forgot another option which is to apply a view filter or selection filter to the view. That is, if your surface pattern happens to be a drafting pattern. 🙂

and my previous message should read (interpunction...):

Create parts. Doing that will show your surface patterns (model pattern)
