One idea would be the functionality to use wall sweeps that are innately adaptable. Functioning like the jambs of a door, being set with offset from the faces of the wall.
It can be applied in coping of walls and similar, any element that finishes the top of a wall. I currently use the profile - wall sweep, but it forces - for each type of wall with different thickness - to double the type of sweep and to duplicate the type of profile.
