wall structure layer less than 1.6 mm?

Curious about the minimum 1.6 mm limit on wall layers: Is this an arbitrary number, or is it a result of the accursed imperial system of measurements? Here in the rest of the world, we do have materials, such as metal sheets, that are 1 mm in thickness. As a result of Revit's minimum thickness of 1.6 mm, I am having to borrow thickness from other layers. It is a bother, and results in inaccurate representations.

As a representative of the rest of the world, we would like this changed. All apologies to colleagues in the United States, Myanmar, and Liberia.

If it has something to do with imperial system I do not know. As far as I know the limit is 0.8 mm

Revit (without tricks) will not draw lines shorter than 0.8 mm. So this is not only limited to wall layers.

Hi EnlInt,

I'm interested in how you managed to get 0.8mm thickness.

Through my approach I can only get min thickness of 1.6mm.

Screenshot attached.

Thanks!

Best,

@Anonymous, are there any plans to allow thicknesses less than 0.8mm?

Instead of reviving such an old thread, you might want to start your own. And yes there are more than a couple of ways that allow you to work around the 0.76mm limitation
