Wall extend in front of window

Hello all,

I would like the wall insulation to extend in front of the window (see image on the left- I did it with the Cut Profile tool).

Is there any other way to do it?

Thank you in advance!

Yes, normally a standard window family consists of a window opening which cuts through the entire wall, you can also replace it by a void which cuts only partially through the wall. You can then add a void in front of your window, a little bit smaller which cuts through your insulation.

Replace the wall opening with a void (you can not have both) in your window family

Hello,

Thank you for your answers!

Is it possible also to wrap the exterior layer as I show in the Image  1?

When I try to do it I get the image 2, but I would like to have it straight.

Thank you!

Just change your Window "AF_2_wallk closure" Instance Parameter in the Project to 0.180.

You can add a second "Wall Closure" Ref. Plane, in the Plan View of the Family, so you can do an Interior Wrap as well.

...maybe you could make the "Inset" Ref. Plane the Wall Closure Plane for the Exterior, and use the other one for the Interior?  Just a thought.

@barthbradley.

Thank you!

In order to have the wraps also in a section View, do I need to create a sweep element in the window family?
