Wall cladding family

Dear All,

I am trying to create a wall based family for a wall cladding. (I know that there are many libraries but I would like to create my own family to understand and practice Revit)

Everything looks fine, I can flex my panel in both directions. After loading panel into a project and placing it on a wall, fixing of a panel (screws) are not attached to a panel anymore.

Can anyone share any ideas how to solve this issue? Fixing is a nested family within "panel family"made as a simple circle extrusion.

Thanks,

Peter

Is the fixing family locked to a ref plane?

Accepted solution

Delete the old fixings

And re-create your fixing as a Generic Face Based family and load it in to the panel family

place them on the face you want and load in to a project to test.

Hello @Anonymous,

Can you upload the cladding family where the fixing family is included?

I need the family you placed in your project to find out what is wrong with it.

Many thanks Alan. That did the trick! Works now nice and smooth 🙂

Family attached, in case someone wants to have a look or use it.

Hi Could you please upload the wall cladding family that you managed to fix. I am new to it all and could not get a vertical panel cladding anywhere. Looking for this profile of cladding. I am looking for cladding material to apply to my external walls and lining to my internal walls.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
