Wall Brick Wrap on the head.

Hi,

I was wondering if there is anyway to wrap the wall around the head and where the cill would be of a window? I can wrap it into the jambs with no problem.

When i do a section of the window it doesnt show the head wrapping back just cuts off.

Hopefully the pdf attached will make it more clear.

Thank you.

Chris

So it is ...Revit wraps wall layers only on sides of the openings not on heads ( at least till 2016 version). I personally don't miss it....

If you want to do it for a 3d detail to appear as texture  you can use some tricks...One is using a Generic Model Adaptative Family( a surface based on 4 adaptative points ) with Material parameters -as shown in my screeshot. Once applied in the Project you can choose the material you want to be the header...

Another posibility could be to integrate the header as nested family into the Window/Door families ( I consider it  a bit overworked)

Hi Constantin, Thank you for your reply, some helpful tips. Problem is when i want to do section drawings it still doesn't show the head wrap? Do you think Revit 16/17 will have this feature?

@Anonymous

It behaves the same in 2016 & 2017...layers do not wrap in section view.

There is a constructablity theory to clarify it  but that would only make sense when you go into detailing

My advice for when dealing with sections, just use your "detail components". It will come out nicer.
