Host 2 objects Same Location?

I need to add a curtain wall system in an opening, where a rolling overhead door is to remain.

  • Overhead rolling door remains in opening. Object is hosted by wall/creating the opening in the wall
  • Storefront with door needs to be added in the same opening

Any suggestions on best way to model this?

This might cause a riot, but I was thinking setting the overhead door to demo in previous phase, overide graphic to not show as demo in the demo sheets, draw detail lines of overhead in Phase 1, with curtain wall now in place.

Thanks

You can place both of these elements together as I have shown in the image.

This is assuming you are keeping the overhead door. There is nothing preventing you from placing these 2 element close together.

If you need the overhead door demolished but the opening to remain, and filled with the curtain wall, the modeling still works the same way, you may need to adjust some visibility settings to get what you are looking to represent.

In both of these scenarios you will probably get a warning about overlapping walls, but that can be ignored, as it is intentional in this case.
