VM on AWS Graphic Card compatibility with Autodesk REVIT 2019

Good morning,

I just set up a virtual machine by using Amazon Web Services, to be used as a testbed for AutoCAD Revit.

However, after I installed Revit, a message appeared on the screen warning about "Hardware Acceleration disabled, software acceleration will be used instead".

The virtual machine I created on Amazon Web Services features a "High-performance NVIDIA Tesla K80 GPUs, each with 2,496 parallel processing cores and 12GiB of GPU memory".

But it seems it´s not supported by Revit, according to the hardware list compatibility. I wanted to use

this particular configuration because it´s the only one which features a powerful GPU for rendering.

Is there a way I can force Revit to recognize the Nvidia Tesla K80 GPU?

Revit does not use GPU when rendering--just so you know. It uses the CPU. You can also render in the Cloud.

So--unless you need that specific graphics card for other apps ( like Lumion, Enscape, etc.) I would build a VM solution on a different card. I'm not actually sure how Revit reacts to VMs, and especially virtualized graphics.

Oh--and it's not "Autocad Revit"--it's Autodesk Revit. If you mix and match AutoCad and Revit, you will get some heat on the forums!
