visibility of topographic surface edges - Revit LT

Anonymous
Not applicable

In Revit LT 2014, I've tried unsuccessfully to override the color of topographic surface edges in my model to white, so the edges don't show up in plan views.  I've tried through the Object Styles menu, Override Graphics In View By Element, and Override Objects In View By Category, but nothing has worked.  These overrides have worked for me in the past in previous Revit Arch versions, so I don't know if LT just doesn't have that capability, or it's a bug.  I can't simply extend the toposurface past the view window edges (I only want to show contour lines on my site, since they've been surveyed, but the neighboring site has not been surveyed, so I don't want to guess at them).  I really just want to hide the toposuface boundary edge.  Suggestions?

An override applied to the topography category should get you the look you are after.

This was done in Revit not Revit LT because the computer I am working on today does not have Revit LT installed, but there is no difference between Revit and Revit LT in this area.

This does not work for me. I change the line properties - white, purple, orange, everything, but they persistently display as gray no matter the settings. When I override the individual Element properties, I can make the edge lines change color - but it must be done on an individual override basis, rather than as a project setting.

This time I am using Revit LT and have no issue changing the edge of the topography category in both "Visibility and Grapihic Overrides" (change in a single view) and in "Object Styles" (change in EVERY view of the project).  IN this image I have used Object Styles to change the edges of the topography to Magenta.

do you have the topo in the "existing" phase? if so, that has its own override (grey). if you change your phase settting in the view to "show complete" the topo will no longer have the grey override and the object styles override that was described in this thread should work.

I have the same problem and is driving me insane. It has worked for me in the past to turn topography lines white. However, not on this particular project, I've made sure the phase filter is set to "show complete" and have the same visibility settings. Not sure if I'm missing something or if it's a bug

In your picture I can't tell if I'm looking at a topo surface boundary or a property line.

It is a property line on topo edge. The intend is to show the property line but hide topographic edge for clarity. It has worked on the past but not for this project.

Hopefully this picture looks better

Although this technically works, you also lose the edges at subregions where you may have sidewalks, roads, water, etc.  Autodesk should provide a new subcategory that is just the topo outside border or allow Linework tool to be able to be used at topo edges.

Maybe this is too late for you but for anyone else who has this problem: make sure the bottom of your primary view range is below the topography, only then will you be able to override the projection line of the topography to white.
