View Title Customization

I have edited the View Title family file View Tile.rfa to reflect some text height changes, and saved it back to a family with the same name, which I believe is the default file Revit looks for when it places a view title on a sheet. However, when I drag a view onto a new sheet, the out-of-the-box View Title appears, not my revised one. How do I get my revised one to be loaded automatically without having to open my revised family separately and load it into each new project. If the answer is to change the default Architectural template, how do I do that?

Revit doesn't "look for" some default View Title family. It has one loaded into whatever template file you started your project with.

Save your cutom one with a unique name, such as my_custom_view_title.rfa or whatever. Open your project file (or template file), use Insert > Load Family on the tool ribbon, and load it in. The next time you place a view on a sheet, check the type selector at the top of the Properties palette and pick your custome one, or select views you've already placed on sheets and pick your custom one there.
