view range and light fixture

How to setup the view range so I can see the light fixture in the ceiling, the door, windows and bathtub

So I want to see everything that's in between the ceiling and the floor.

Try many setup and the view range but can get everything in one view

Set your cut to as low as you need to cut everything you want to cut.  So probably around 5'-6' and the top is usually the bottom of your framing.

as soon as my cut is 1mm lower than my light fixture I don't see them anymore

as soon as my cut is higher than my door I don't see them anymore

Then you need to adjust your TOP height if the light disappears....and of course the door disappears if you place your cut above the door, you are looking UP not DOWN like a floor plan.

 Welcome on the Autodesk Forums ! Thanks for asking , 
you should know at first that it depends on your plan view type as floor plan view has ordinary view range and the ceiling plan view has reflected view range .
Second point , if you use floor plan view so you look down now , make your cut plane through your doors and make ( windows and your lighting fixture ) in the top zone of your view range 
Third point , if you use Ceiling plan view so you look up now , make your cut plane through doors as above and you see windows and light fixtures automatically ( if the setting of view range @ default status ) 
I know this matter is confusing right now as you wonder what is the difference between the second point and the third one ,if you wanna know the actual difference mention here 🙂

basement floor is at 2160'8"

first floor is at 2174'8"

14' higher 

floor package is 2' thick

so basement ceiling is at 12' or 2172'8"

The light are at the right place in the ceiling I can see them in the elevation view their elevation in the properties is at 12'4"3/4

Cut a section through the room and post a snip of that.

 Also....what kind of ceiling did you use?  Use a Compound Ceiling, not a Basic Ceiling.

Are you using a Floor Plan or a Ceiling Plan?

If it is a Floor Plan, raise the Cut Plane to above the highest light fixture, the view range bottom should be at the level.  If the fixture are in the ceiling then make the ceiling transparent.

Thank you @Anonymous  for these images it makes your issue more clear right now ,
From these images i know you are using floor plan view so ,
Try to make your Cut plane @ 11.5' or 11.9' as when you make your cut plane at level above ceiling level ( 12' in your case ) the ceiling is cover your doors and windows so make your cut plane as i told you above

@ToanDN  Doh!   I didn't even notice that the Bottom setting for View Range wasn't grayed out.

It is a floor plan.

I try all kind of stuff this is just annoying I read everything I could find on the internet and everything you guys said and it still not working.

Can I just disable that feature?

and make everything visible all the time

I don't see the advantage of that view range

the only time I have to touch it because I can't see something

and it a pain in the ass the get it to work every time

I just want to see everything all the time

Just keep what you want to see within the view range then you will see them.  Share you file if you want us to fix it.

Overlap two views on sheets...

Overlap views....Prepare the views, and drag on sheets to compose... the last view dragged on sheet overrides/comes at front.. so sometime you might need to just reset.. remove all the views and place on the sheets from the scratch...
