Revit LT 2019

I have selected "Variable" component in me roof type. There are no "slope defining" edges. I can not shape edit as defined on the Revit LT Web site https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-lt/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2019/ENU/Revi...

The sample file provided has shape edit sub components that you can grab and pull, but can't add or modify etc...

I need to do a tapered insulation roof where the bottom remains flat........

That only works with full Revit, not LT.

Well that just stinks. Part of us looking into what to purchase is based on the Published information on the Revit Website........ Maybe AutoDesk needs to clean up their tutorials and how to pages.....

Are there any work around methods anyone knows of?

My initial thought is to create a very thin roof type, 1/4" or so, and create individual roof areas for each region of the flat roof area. Float that over a separate roof that is just deck and a base layer of insulation. Then on sections i can fill in the gaps with filled regions with the same hatch to make it look right.
