Using multi-segment grid for 3D property line

Is there a reason why the PL grid will only appear once in a given section?

PL Grid?  You mean a Grid using a "PL" Line Type?  Maybe the Grid isn't captured within the View Range? 

 

Maybe the Grid is askew to the View.  Betcha that's it.

So it works here. 

The same principle is what I am doing in the project, except as you can see only one segment is visible:

and it works with a new dummy PL

I think it may be an issue with curved segments. In which case this strategy for 3D property lines won't work. Do you have any other suggestions?
