Update schedules

Hello everybody.

We have several projects that strated a while ago. Since the start of these project we have made several changes in schedules in our template. Is there a way to update the schedules in the running projects to the latest version as in our template?

When we use insert views from file to update them Revit automatically ads a number behiond the schedule name because it is already in the project.

Hello Jelmar,

There are some way to do this, but the way that always works for me is:

1). Open the project with the old schedules.

2). Open a new project with the new schedules, in the same Revit window.

3). Go to the "old" project and select the schedules, and just press delete.

4). Go to the "new" project and select the schedules, and press ctrl+c (copy).

5). Go to the "old" project and go to a view (not a schedule view) and press ctrl+v (paste).

Now the schedules are added with the names from the new project and settings from the new project.

Thanks! But I forgot to mention that our Schedules are placed on sheets along with a view that filters out the object that are mentioned in the schedule. So actually that is the problem. Is trhere any solution to export schedule along with a view?

Copy paste schedules from template to project. Create templates from new
schedules. Assign templates to old schedules. Delete new schedules when
done.

Template doesn't affect sorting and grouping, filters,  formula's etc., just appearance. So this is not a solution right?

That's why I asked you the first question.

If the entire schedule needs to change, just replace the one on sheet with
the new schedule and replicate the filter to match.

We misunderstood but this again is no solution. This is how we do it at the moment but its too time consuming. Any suggestions for add-ins that can export Schedules along with views. Perhaps Navisworks is of some use?

Looking on the Autodesk App Store, I found 83 Revit add-ins when searching for "Schedule". If you have not already looked through these, I would suggest checking if any of these will allow the workflow you are looking for.
