Update 2021.1 error

I tried several times to install the 2021.1 update (released 3 weeks ago). It always tells me installation failed after several minutes or installation attempts. So far so bad.

But after that attempt, Revit doesnt'work anymore. an error (s. attachment) indicates there is a "missing schema folder". a repair of the installation didn't work. So I had to de-install and re-install Revit.

Guess what, I was stupid enough to attempt to update again, with the same result and need to re-install Revit again.

Unless someone has an idea how to resolve that, I highly recommend not updating.

Thanks. Interestingly Autodesk published that article July 22, right after 2021.1 was published. So there must have been more people with problems.

The article states, update 2021.1 fixes the problem. BUT: before the (failed) update I didn't have the problem, it appeared after the failed update.

And I also don't know how to install update 2021.1 since it fails.

I guess I wait for 2021.2 and will try again.

Hello,

Can you verify if C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Revit Schemas 2021 folder exists?  If not, it would indicate an installation error.  Since you are using the 2021.1 Update, can you perform the following to extract the contents of the update executable to your local workstation?

The individual installers of the wrapped executable can be extracted using the following command line once the executable is downloaded to C:\Temp\ : C:\Temp\Autodesk_Revit_2021_1.exe /e C:\Temp This will extract the individual installers to the C:\Temp folder.

One the files are extracted, directly run the RevitUnitSchemas.msi

Thanks for responding. I have the schemas folder at the location you indicated. The problem is, the 2021.1 update removes that folder and the installation of that update is not successful.

Where would I get the "Autodesk_Revit_2021_1.exe"? It is not in the temp folder. I attempted to apply the update with the Autodesk "update" application.
