Unrecoverable Error while Sychronzing

Good Morning All,

Revit Build:

17.0.1128.0
20170419_0315(x64)
2017.2.1

I have a model that we started in 2017 before the service packs and it was working fine up until last week. Last week I got an Unrecoverable Error while synchronizing and when I tried to audit it said I had to many missing elements. I tried auditing the model with no luck (got the missing elements error again). I restored the oldest model I have which was from the week prior and the elements were still missing in that model so I can't replace the elements. I also thought it was possibly a corrupt user file so I recreated that with no luck.

I have attached my journal file from this morning when I attempted to audit the model again.

Thanks for any help!

Cole

Seen this happen WAY too many times.

1) Delete all your local files

2) Delete all your Temp files. Type %temp% in the Windows search window and delete everything in there. Where Windows stops at a file, click Skip

3) Empty your Recycle Bin

4) Make this a part of regular housekeeping

The temp files can be a sizable block - when prompted, a couple of co-workers deleted 1.2 MILLION temp files from their machines! Just sayin'.....

Tried deleting everything you said and that hasn't worked. We are now trying to copy all of our elements to a new clean file. We have a bid set due at the end of the week. Thanks for your help.

Hi @Anonymous

A quick look at your journal shows you that you have to update to 2017.2.1

Have you installed any recent 3rd party add-ins? Is so, please disable them and try the process again.

Let me know if this fixes your issue.

Hi @Viveka_CD

I don't think I have any extra add-ins, my add-ins have external, bim 360, and formit 360 converter.

Are any of those tabs problems?

Hi @Anonymous

Can you disable the Form it converter and try again?

Also can you check your virtual memory? See HERE for suggestions to improve speed and performance.

Hi @Anonymous

OK so the add-ins and memory errors are ruled out.

Please open the central file with detach option from central. Audit the file option checked enable work-sharing again, save the file as a new central file. Then try syncing the model.

If you still face errors, try the following as the next steps:

  • Please create a new Administrative account and retest. Does this occur on a different computer?
  • Does the crash occur when the system is put into a simplified startup environment? How to perform a selective startup in Windows
  • Please see HERE for a latency issue that may result in a timeout during synchronization.
  • When you synchronize with central, borrowed elements are relinquished by default. However, few elements errors have been encountered with borrowed elements.
  • It could be that a user profile is corrupt and may cause this error. Please reset the user profile and try again.

Let me know if you were able to resolve the issue and have questions on the above recommendations.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

Hi @Anonymous

We are looking at your journal file.

A few error messages state that there are too many elements missing in it. I recommend you to try the following steps:

Are you using C4R. Please follow these steps- Copy the Collaboration Cache files from a computer on which the model can be opened successfully to a computer on which the error is displayed. Follow these instructions:

  1. Use the information in Clear a corrupt/damaged C4R model from the system to find the Collaboration Cache files.
  2. Copy the Collaboration Cache files — excluding the PACCache folder — from a computer on which the model can be opened successfully to a computer on which the error is displayed.
  3. Once the files have been copied, try again (on a computer that had been displaying the error) to open the model from A360 Collaboration for Revit.

Let us know if this resolves your issue, or send us a model to troubleshoot. Let me know if you have questions regarding sending the file.
