Hover the mouse cursor over the padlock until the blue lock turns yellow, then click to unlock.

Might be frozen if you have non-adjacent layers unlocked.

Nope, your guess is spurious but thanks anyhow... one must now hover a couple of seconds before the lock becomes available (yelliw) to change... per other answer

Actually, I was giving you an excuse to use to save face.  Smiley (zwinkernd)

FWIW: You cannot have nonadjacent layers unlocked. This is a fact. So, it really wasn't a "spurious" guess.

If you read the OP again, notice I never mentioned non-adjacent layers.

Aren't you the "OP" (e.g. Original Poster)?  Anyways, you are correct; the OP didn't mention non-adjacent layers -- I did.

What's your point?

Is it true that you cannot unlock ALL layers so that the interior finish, core, and exterior finish are all different heights (extension)?

Hi,

I'm experiencing the same issue with revit 2020,

trying to unlock some layer of base or top wall,  the lock appear but I can click it.

I have try a lot of time, waiting to get it yellow, with angle perception,

but still.

Funny taught, throw remote access on a colleague computer (covid-19), I could do it on is part,

still, I'm at the same point for my progression.

Please, if you solve the same problem.

Not at all,
Please be serious,
I using Revit till 2011, intensively
IF I told you that I have a issue unlocking a layer of a wall (when
modifying a section in the wall modify window)
It seem to be more a Graphic card problem,
Please verify if there is something on that side.

So nobody @ autodesk figured out how to unlock a simple exterior siding yet? Astounding!

Astounding how this simple thing is still plagued by "zoom in problems" some folks suggesting graphic card issues . . . oy vei it is basic!

What the heck are you talking about?

READ THE DRAWINGS. One should be able to have both plywood sheathing as well as exterior siding slide beyond the F.F. that is simple Architecture 101. Currently (as my screenshots clearly show). . . there is a continuation of this problem which has existed for years! I have spoken to senior Autodesk Technicians about this . . . nobody seems to know really why ~ issues of magnification have been mentioned, yes i am locking the stud layer.

The workaround is annoying as one has to use 2D fill to finish the detail which is inane.

Yeah, I still don't know what you're talking about.  Now, you are throwing out the ol' "it's Architecural 101".  What's that supposed to mean? Who do you think you are talking to anyways? This is a Global Revit Architecture Users' Forum.  On top of that, this thread is 2 years old-- almost to the day.

Again . . . you might try actually reading the posted screenshots as they clearly indicate the inability of 2021 to solve the outer layer sliding down issue . . . and u are rather a rude fellow aren't you? i am simply following up on a post that several people responded to and i am astounded that it hasn't been fixed!

Oh, and in answer to your question: "u are rather a rude fellow aren't you"; I'd have to know what your definition of "rude" is before I could answer. I mean, are we talking "Rude 101"  or "Rude 102"?  :zwinkerndes_Gesicht:
