Hello,

Is there a way to change the lineweight of an underlay. We can change it to halftone or what not but it still isn't what we need we need it slightly dark.

There is a control located here: Manage > Additional Settings > Halftone/Underlay  Where you can set the underly values, make halftone darker, or override to somethign else entirely. This should get you closer to what you are after if not exactly what you are after.

In newer versions of Revit it is. I do not remember which version, I believe 2016 this option became available

Under manage, addtiional settings you have Halftone/Underlay where you can control lineweights
