Don't do this...Exploding CAD imports is a bad choice in Revit even for smaller files!

You really want to explode something that big (bad idea by the way, that is why the error is there, to prevent something like that). Just break the CAD import in to multiple files and import 2 or 3, or whatever it takes, then explode the separate imports.
You will have a real mess on your hands, but not really any worse than if you were allowed to explode a single import with more than 10,000 elements.
As suggested above though, I would try to figure out how to do whatever it is you are doing without exploding the CAD import at all. You will be better off in the long run. Whatever time you are trying to save by using and exploding a huge CAD import will be more than lost in troubleshooting and attempting to solve problems the exploded elements are going to create for you over the life of the project.
I am trying to import a file from 3Ds MAX to Revit and get plans, sections and elevations. if not exploding is there any other way to do this.
