Unable to create empty curtain wall with 45 degree mullions.

Hi all,

I posted about an issue that I received help with yesterday, thank you for all who responded and helped. 

However, I've uncovered an issue where I cannot create an empty curtain wall with 45 degree mullions, as Revit will give me an error and simply revert the panels back to normal glass panels. I require just the mullions at a 45 degree angle (as shown in the picture) to create an external envelope for the facade without the glass. https://www.flickr.com/photos/asiax89/4778112316/in/photostream/

Use Empty System Panel, not the external Empty panel family.  They are different.  The external one only works with rectangular shapes.  The System one works with any shapes.

Just to check, how do I go about applying this to a curtain wall? (I'm a bit of a novice).

Tab on a panel to select it (them) and change the type to Empty System Panel > Empty. Make sure you enable selection of pinned elements (look at the bottom right status bar with a pushpin symbol, if you see an X over it then click to clear).

I've had a go, and it still leaves these corner elements as either solids or glass.

I think I'm missing the empty system panel from my revit library and thats the problem

Do you want to make all panels empty? If so, edit the curtain wall type and assign Empty System panel to its curtain panel definition. Share the file if you want me to look at it?
