Would anyone know if a U-Value tag that picks up the thermal values of a building component can be made? I went to multi category tag and created a new parameter, but the data type doesnt provide an option for U-Values

Why don't you do report the U-Values in a Category-Specific Schedule and place it on a Sheet keyed to a Legend View of the element?

Unfortunately there is no default U-value. You have to create U-value shared parameter. Also visit the idea board and ask to add U-value to material

Wanted to see if there was an option for tagging a building component for U-Values through shared parameters, similar to a material tag. Just incase I choose to modify wall buildup for example and for the tag to populate the U-value or thermal resistance automatically

Yah, I think I get. Correct me if I'm wrong. You want to pull the U-value into the Wall TAG, but U-value is not an available Parameter.  So, you created a Text-Type Shared Parameter for U-value and you want it to populate automatically if the U-value of the Wall changes. You can't get there with vanilla Revit, but maybe with a Dynamo assist you can.

Out of curiosity, why have U-value in Wall Tags?  I've never seen that done.  U-value reports in Schedules. That doesn't work for you?  Wall Tag keyed to Schedule.

Yes that's right, I'm looking to do exactly that. It is just something I wanted to do temporarily so I can track U-Value calculations while modifying my floor/ fire plan views at the same time, instead of having to flick back and forth from schedules and an active view. It's fine if it can be done however

Thanks for the support man
