Hello,
I have got a peculiar problem. I have a single detail view being referenced by a section as well as a callout on another larger Section.
The problem is neither of them are referenced views and deleting either the section marker or callout deletes the detail view.
My problem is the callout is wrongly picked up on the section and we cannot have two conflicting views referencing one detail view. Just trying to find out if this is a Revit feature I am not able to comprehend or if this is a bug in the software.
I know this all sounds complicated so I will attach some screenshots to maybe make it clearer. Please ask me questions if need be.
Kind Regards

Hello @barthbradley
Thank you for the response. Apologies, I didn't get what you meant by using "Find Referring View". I have found the Section Marker and the Callout, and they both point to one view.
As far as I understand, one non-referenced section marker or non-referenced callout should create one view each but here one view is creating a section marker and a callout each. We have two instances of this happening, one detail view creating a callout and a section marker individually. Editing either of these changes the other two (for example while changing the crop region).
Will it help if I share the Revit Model? It is a massive 700mb plus project so I will probably have to clean the file first but I can do that if needed.

Hello @ToanDN
Thank you for the reply, I tried looking for it but that option is not available in the properties for this callout. I believed this might be the case if a detail view was created as a section (it is not created as a detail view, its a plain section), but then why does it also appear as a callout on another large scale section? Am I missing something?
I have attached the screenshots with the properties visible. Since yesterday, we have flipped the section around and are working on it, so you might see some changes in the screenshots but the problem is still the same.

I don't see any odd about it. See diagram below. Section 3 is presented as a section mark in Plan 1, and as a call-out in Section 2. It is completely normal. Now do you want to show it as the section mark in plan or as the call-out in the other section?
Hello @ToanDN
Oh, now I see. Referring to your markup, just because section 3 is very close/on the same line as section 2 it is visible as a callout in section 2. Thank you for solving the mystery for me ![]()
I would like to show only the callout on the larger section at this stage. Should I just hide the section marker in the plans or is there a smarter way to achieve this?
Kind Regards

I will hide them via a filter at this stage. But will note the options for the future.
Thank you so much.
