Trying to Use a Hole family to Cut In a Generic Model Category vs a Temporary Structure Category

So my team members and I were having a discussion about using a category that better fit what our product is and we noticed that when switching to a temporary structures category, we were no longer able to use our hole family and were wondering why.
I decided to do a save as and change only the Family Category. These are both face based models with nested components set against a concrete wall. Sometimes we have to cut through the face and wall. When switching to the Temporary Category, you will notice the hole is still there, but not cutting.

I then decided to go into the Family Parameters and match everything I could.
The hole family has had a few changes, we tried matching the category, playing around with the properties, and still no luck.
I am just wondering is this how the categories are designed or is it a bug? I understand that certain Family Categories are designed to fit the need of that type of product, but I could not find any information on how each one is different. At this point we are fine with using the Generic Model Category, but we are just wondering if there is more information about this?
