TOPOSurface extending over Building Pad

HI,

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong.

But my TopoSurface extending over Building Pad (please see attached).

The Building Pad is 1mm thick. And the portion of toposurface extending over Pad is slightly higher than pad level.

I thought when creating a Pad the topo drops down into the pad? I'm not sure.

Topo does both drop down to pad or mount up to pad in chase the latter is higher...Nonetheless, I cannot recreate the glitch at my end even with animating the elevation of a 1mm pad! using dynamo to see if it happens at a certain elevation with respect to topo.

Try changing phasing and filters or try to lower the pad slightly or thicken it and use as blinding below grade slab and see what happens...otherwise you can attach the file in question

Hi  RDAOU,

Thanks for your post.

I've thickened the Pad and changed the phase to no avail!

Note: I have created a Graded Toposurface identical to this topo but in a "New Construction" Phase with a new Pad same phase) - but this one is behaving.

Please see attached.

Regards,

I meant attach the Revit file not an image

Did you try to set phase to new construction + filter show complete?

I've deleted the pad and redraw it several times. I even re-did the toposurface from scratch selecting for the correct phase. It seems to produce the same result - the topo covers the pad??

The Pad is not associated with and/or cutting the existing Toposurface...Instead it has been associated with the Toposurface you created in Demolition phase (to check at your end...select / delete the Toposurface created in Demolition Phase and you will notice that the Pad you set to existing has been also deleted)

In short...the Existing Topo is not cut by any Pads...the question I am wondering about

  1. Should this pad be in existing Phase? and should it be demolished?? (What you currently have in the model and which is somewhat odd because Pads usually come after Grading and not before)
  2. Or should the pad be actually created in Demolition Phase and not demolished at all?
  3. The other question is why the intermediate Demolition Phase? It is not that you cannot have it but the solution would depend on
    • whether you really need this phase and it must be kept
    • or you can workout the project between Existing and New Construction only (skipping the intermediate phase)

The graphic representation which you seem to be currently intending to do (with the current 3 phases, surfaces and pads) appears to be the following:

Thanks RDAOU for your help,

You were right, the pad was associated with the New Construction Phase. I had to delete topo and redraw.

The Pad doesn't have to be created in Domo phase, new construction phase is ok.
