Toposolid Cut with Linked Models

Often when a project has multiple buildings on one site, I'll have each individual building in its own project and link each project to a main file with the site topo on it. From my knowledge there's no way to cut objects using linked models so is there a workaround to cut a toposolid from a linked model? For example, the linked model of the building has a slab on grade foundation and we want to cut the toposolid site model using that foundation's footings in the linked model.

Would using Copy/Monitor to create monitored copies of the relevant foundation walls and/or floors work? I just did a quick test and it looks like it might.

Interesting idea.

Sadly it doesn't work with footings. And when there are many elements it becomes really tedious since, as far as I've experienced, one cannot select multiple elements at once.

Was there ever a solution to this situation? I am running into the same issue with a linked structural model and the toposolid.

Yes having the same issues, I have 35 buildings on a site all as referenced files with differing foundations, same issue, what is the best work around for this?

This needs to be addressed by the Revit development team. And soon. The new toposolid vs toposurface of old is less efficient for us until this is fixed with a full solution.
