to cut only a layer of a floor

Hi, 

I need to know if is it possible to cut only a layer of my floor. 

In this example are showers, and in that area I don't want to put ceramic layer, but only the concrete below. 

How can I do that?

Maybe not the best option, but you could create an in-place family that is nothing but a void that goes down the depth of the tile layer, and then have it cut the floor element. You have to cut the floor BEFORE you finish the in-place family or it will disappear.

Another option, of course, would be to make another floor type and carve out the first floor with tile and put the second one in the hole, with an offset of negative the tile thickness. Then use Join Geometry to clean things up nicely.

You can use Parts, Divide Parts and assign different materials in the different "layers" of a compound floor ( or wall, roof, etc.)

You could also achieve through Parts, but beyond that, have you given any thought to drainage?  How's the water collected there diverted to drain outlet?  The floor is going to be sloped for drainage, right?

I tried this way, but in the measurment schedule doesn't appear this difference of material. 

I mean, the schedule doesn't see this parts
