Text is printing larger than it appears?

After upgrading to 2017, all of my text is printing to (either Adobe PDF, my 24x36 plotter, or smaller printer) a slightly larger size.  (Almost) all of my fonts are Arial, however I am noticing that there is a difference regardless of font.  For example, my Arial 3/32 front is printing not quite at 1/8" - somethign in between.  If text is say, inside of a revision cloud on the screen, it comes out on the PDF/paper overlapping the revision cloud.  I have attempted to print in both vecotr and raster.  No other patterns, line types, etc. appear to be affected.

Sadly I did not try to start printing with 2017 until today (when I need it).

it seems like a font mapping issue somewhere.  look at the text type within revit and see what font is being used.  verify this font is the same with the original revit 2016 or older file

I thought so too... I actually changed the font to something else entirely and then changed it back.  I only use Arial (for all drawings) and Century Gothic (for title block related stuff) and they both are exhibiting the same behavior.  I just changed to another font altogetherm printed it, and it still is ehibiting the same size difference with a different typeset.  Any other thoughts?

I'm on Windfows 10.

Here is a screen cap, not sure how much more info it will give.  To the right is the correct size in Revit and to the left is the incorrect size showing up in Acrobat (same as priting to a printer or plotter as well).

You know the first rule of thumb when something like this goers wrong?  Restart your computer.

I have no idea why it has resumed normal operatio, I shut it down every night.  But please disregard.  Thanks!

So you fixed this by restarting? I'm having the exact same problem after upgrading to 2018, but restarting is not solving the problem. Has anyone figured out a solution? the text changes size when I try and print to print a PDF or a print to a physical printer. Oddly, the text does not change size if I export a jpeg.

Does anyone out there know how to fix this?!?!?

Your problem is not exactly as his.  His text size only increased slightly from 3/32 to ~1/8.  Yours is like double the size.  Have you tried another PDF printer?

Hi @GLDevco

Please install the latest updates/hotfix for Revit 2017 (R2017.2). Please sign in to your desktop app to install updates.

  • Are you accessing Revit from a remote desktop?
  • Did you try changing the font other than arial font and see if you get the same error?
  • Did you try reducing the font size by half and then try printing? This is not a viable workaround, but I just want you to try.
  • Is your windows screen resolution set to 100%  and not 150%?
  • Are you using multiple monitors, if so turn them off before printing.

Let us know if you were able to resolve the issue.

Please mark this response as "Accept as Solution" if it answers your question to help other members seeking similar solutions. Kudos gladly accepted.

Happy to help if you have additional questions!

As soon as I told you it was fixed, it stopped working. I have attached what plots vs. what I see on my screen prior to plotting. Any help would be great. I can't share this with clients.
