Tapered Wall with deleted Hosted elements (phasing) not working

Hi Everyone,

I'm concerned that using phasing to represent deleted elements hosted on a tapered wall, is not possible to do.
A simple exercise we can do it's just create a wall (activating the variable parameter in a wall layer), change its corss section to tapered, activate the cross section instance parameter and than selecting the angle for both sides; after that we can insert a window/door on it; then, if we try to demolish the window, revit will send you a waring saying "Cannot set angles on a tapered wall which has angles controlled by the type." But, as we saw, we defined the angles in the instance parameters (not by the type, as the warning says).

This could be because of the way a tappered wall angles are applied to a wall, once it cannot generate a second wall in the window/door insert with the host wall definitions. But maybe someone can just confirm to me that there's no way to use a tapered wall with deleted hosted elements or some enlightenment on how to do it.

Thank you in advance!

No warnings thrown on my end when I demolish your wall.  Is that the test?

Hi Barth,

Thank you for your answer.

It is. The warning appears is when you try to demolish the window, not the wall.

You can report it to Autodesk.  It ought to be fixed.

Meanwhile, make the hole using Wall Opening > Fill the hole with a vertical wall > Host the window on the vertical wall > Demolish the vertical wall and the window.

Thank you for your answer ToanDN.
Yeah, maybe I'll report it.
I understood your workarround, but in the existing phase you'll get two walls that are not aligned. I'm using a mix between tapered and slanted wall, once I can get at least once side aligned with one tapered wall face.
The point here was the straight use of the demolish tool, just as it happens in vertical or slanted walls. I tried R22 and R23 but the issue remains.

I've read that article before, but there's no mention in the phasing using.
I suppose that autodesk missed that point.

No.  You create the opening and the vertical in-fill the same size as the window.  Once you placed the window, it will cut the vertical wall entirely.

I've reported this issue to Autodesk and seems that this is an already known issue, as we can see in this post.

Lets wait them to fix it.
Thank you guys for your help.
