Tagging in Detail Groups

Pretty sure this is a bug more than anything to hopefully get fixed. I would hate for it to get lost in the abyss of ideas. We can create detail groups. The detail groups can contain detail components, or detail items. The detail items can be tagged and then the tags can be ADDED to the group. The detail items cannot be tagged while IN the group. The detail tags can be COPIED within the group, but cannot be CREATED within the group. The tagging feature is completely grayed out. Any help to submit a ticket to get it up the chain would be incredibly helpful!

You are correct—this is a long-standing behavior (often reported as a bug or limitation) in Autodesk Revit. When elements are inside a Detail Group, the creation of new tags is deliberately restricted. Tags can be added/grouped with an Attached Detail Group, but you cannot actively create them while in group edit mode. How to Submit an Official Support TicketTo get this logged officially and up the product development chain, submit your feedback directly through the Autodesk Account portal or via the Autodesk Product Support Portal. Submitting bug reports ensures the development team tracks the issue for future updates.

Hello @kadenk3AKS5,

@Radwan-Almsora has a great suggestion to log a case to make sure this is seen by the appropriate team within Autodesk. You can open a case by viewing the instructions here: https://www.autodesk.com/support/account/manage/use/support, or by navigating to any Autodesk webpage and opening Autodesk Assistant from the lower right hand corner. Make sure you're logged in with your work account, and then follow the flow to open a case. If you have any issues with it just let me know here or Direct Message me.

Thanks for taking the time to post and call attention to this!
