Surface Book Problem with Keyboard/Trackpad when using Revit 2016, 2017

I have a problem with running Revit 2016 or 2017 on my Surface Book i5/8gb/dGPU.

When I use Revit, theres this lag that makes my keyboard/trackpack stop working, except the 'detach button' and the mouse still works.

I have tried all the suggested solutions i found on the internet but none has worked, I have even gotten a replacement thinking it was the Laptop, but the problem persists.

I have tried changing the resolution, turning off the Graphics accelerator, and using the integrated Graphics, and re-downloading Revit 2016 and/or 2017

Please let me know if there are any other possible solutions i can try.

My firm is having the same issue.  We love the surface book for mobility - there has got to be a way to make the 'book & Revit get along better.  In the past we've had to reduce the resolution to keep the graphics card from locking up the program.  The newest 'book doesn't seem to have that issue but the keyboard going out is driving me crazy!

Please Help

(BTW: Sorry to hijack your post I came to post the same thing)    🙂

I have had mine for about a year and this has occurred a few times.

Never with a specific application, but almost always when I redock the tablet.  Battery charge changes but nothing else including the undock works.  I have to hold down the power to force off

I would say it occurs once a month or so.

BTW MS didn't fix the scaling issue, Autodesk did in Revit 2017.1  2016 still will freeze if you set the scaling factor above 125% (150% is default)

Otherwise Revit runs great on the book at least as well as my workstation with the uber graphics card.

The Keyboard issue is killing me too! It's not a matter of computing power keeping up with Revit, but when using Revit occasionally my keyboard will just quit responding. Even on applications off of Revit it doesn't work while Revit is open and it has started its glitch. I purchased the Surface Book for my Masters Design program and now I'm being forced to do my work in the computer labs during odd hours around the classes in the labs. I haven't found any work arounds to resolve the issue. Please update if you find anything.

I found a work-around that lessened the problem, (it only happens once or twice a day now). With the Hardware Accelerator off, open Revit as an Administrator, then open the file from Revit itself.
