Structure pattern transparent in sections.

 The structure I modeled is not showing over the walls or floors. Even if I manually try to add a pattern it still looks like this: 

Does anyone knows how to solve this? It´s not the first time I have a problem with this situation

 Join geometry structural members with architectural walls/floors and switch join order to make the structural members cutting architectural elements.

Isn't there an "automatic" way to do this? Because I'm working with a not finished structure model in which the civil engineering company is updating us weekly with new ifcs full of revisions. I noticed that if I update the linked model I lose the definitions of the union so it will be a bit of a problem for me...

Okay so they are in a linked model?  It wasn't clear in your initial post.  In such case, you cannot join them to your local elements.  Alternative is to set the link elements cut pattern to something like solid color via VG > link tab > link display > custom > model tab > override them.
