Structural Framing family not allowing me to input by 2 points

I created a new structural framing family of a truss, using the "trusses and complex framing" family template. Spent an hour creating my geometry, parameters, and formulas. Everything was working fine in family editor. Went to load into project to continue stretching only to find it inputs as a 'block', and not as a line based/two point input how I was expecting. Is there a simple option somewhere I am missing or do I need to redo everything in a different family template?

I thnnk the methodology you have used with Model Groups and Array will not work in process your require.

I would suggest rebuilding this using either a Truss Family Template or utilising Existing similar Family and Saving out as a New Family
