Storing Revit Families in Google Drive with the Worksharing File on a Revit Server?

Hi,

My firm is looking to move to a Revit server so that we can more efficiently work from home. However, as we cannot store Revit families on the Revit server - I wanted to see if anyone has had any experience storing families on a shared Google Drive? This way we can move away entirely from our current server and store everything on Google Drive.

We have the Google Drive extension on our computers, so it operates as a normal folder, but not sure if it's not going to work once we have more people working on the families? Has anyone had any experience or luck with this?

Thanks

Sam

So worksharing via Google Drive is not a good option and isn't recommended. Putting only families on Google driver can be done so that it can be used in shared environment.

Have you look at Autodesk Drive (come with subscription) or Synology Drive for family file sharing? Synology is your own private cloud sharing.

We wouldn't look to put the worksharing models in GDrive. We are setting up a Revit Server - but I was told that the Revit server can't host .rfa files. Only .rvt - so just trying to figure out the best location for them

I didn't know about Autodesk Drive! I think though we have our files spread across too many platforms right now - so I'm trying to keep everything in one place
