Stop Floor from Cutting intersecting Columns and changing their Shape

Hi Guys, I am having a problem, I am drawing Floors and columns and the columns are intersecting with the floors, the thing is as you can see in the photo the columns shapes  are changed(cut) when they intersect with the floors, any Idea how I can stop cutting of the columns shape ?

are you using Structural or Architectural columns and floors? Structural Floors will cut a Structural column by default. Architectural columns will not be cut by default.  you can always select the floor and pick the Unjoin Geometry tool and and it should unjoin them.

Optionally, you can also switch the join order. This will sometimes get the look you want.
