Spot Elevations Levels Not Matching Toposurface Point Levels

Hi,

Deep into documentation, I was directed to raise our building 500mm. To avoid having to edit the elevation scope box for the 1300 room elevations that were already made, I used "relocate project" to raise the overall model 500mm, then dropped the topo-surface 500mm.

What I found after I did this was that the numerous point levels that generate the toposurface differ by 500mm from the spot elevations.

Is there anyway to change this so the topo-surface point levels match the spot elevations as its doing my head in.

Spot elevations can be 'Project' and 'Relative'. By moving up your project, the 'project' elevations still indicate the same value. What I would do is make an additional level, and use the 'relative' spot elevation releative to that new level. This way, you can have that new level on the correct reference height, thus giving the spot elevations that you need.

Hi. Thanks for your reply.

My Spot Elevation levels are already correct, so there is no reason to change them. It is when I edit the toposurface and I see the numerous point levels that make up the toposurface. Each and every one of these is 500mm different to what the spot elevation level is saying and it is causing me confusion. It is the point levels within the toposurface that need to change to be the real levels ( i.e. match what the spot levels are currently saying)

Misunderstood you there, woops!

In the Contour label type properties, it says 'other > Elevation Base' , try changing this, I don't know on which option it is set in your project. But the solution might be located there.

Hi again.

You are correct, the contour labels can be changed to read from relative, project base point or survey point. Unfortunately, I have no need for displaying contour labels. What I have a need for is for my spot levels and my toposurface point levels to match.

Just to explain further, the toposurface point levels are the numerous points that appear when you edit the toposurface.

It is logical that these should match the measured levels when using the spot levels tool.

Can anyone please help.

It has been suggested to model the topo in a separate file and link with shared coordinates.

The answer to this is that Revit can't make this change as it is a **** software.

Any solution? I am having the same problem...

For me it's critical to make sure that the cut and fill numbers are correct as it impacts our budget for the project. and now I'm unsure if the calculation will be correct.

Has anyone figured out a solution to this?  I'm having the same issue where my topographic points are not matching the actual elevation.  I've changed the Project Base Point and Survey Point to zero and even if I erase and redraw a topographic surface at zero elevation and the "zero" location is way off the zero from the two base points.

The elevation values of the points in a toposurface are given relative to Revit's internal origin, which never changes.  If the values were originally "correct" - reporting the same value as the spot elevation values (relative to Project Base Point), then the Project Base Point elevation was originally the same as the internal origin elevation.  If you later move the Project Base Point (to change the elevation of the building elements) and then moved the toposurface to get it "back to where it was" relative to the moved Project Base Point, the toposurface points have all moved relative to the internal origin point, making their elevation values different than what is reported relative to the Project Base Point.
