Splitting a family component parts in a project

Hello,

I'm currently using families for doors in a Revit project.

When I load the door inside of the main project, the door is in one block and I can't access all the sub-parts.

The problem is that this is for exporting into Unity and I would like to interact with the doors, so I need all the components separated.

Is it possible to split all the parts in the main Revit project?

Thanks

Create the door components as shared families and nest them in the door family.

"Interact" how?

Thank you for your answer

I've ticked "Shared" in the door family properties, but it does not change. All the components of the door are not families but standard extrusions for example.
It's not me who made the models, I just need to export them so I don't know how to modify it so I can do what I want.

For example I'd like to be able to rotate the door panels, but right now in the Revit model they door is in one block so when I export it, I can just move and modify the whole door and the door frame as a single object.

It only works if you model the components as separate families, tick Shared and nest them in the door family.   Ticking shared for the door family itself does not help you here.

So to get what you want, you need to ask the author to fix the door family or you will need to learn how to fix it yourself.

Here is another workaround:

- open the door family and change its category from Doors to Generic Models

- load it back in the project

- select the doors in the project and Create Parts

- export from the 3D view that set to Show Parts

"Rotate" the door panels?  "Rotate" how?  You mean rotate the door panels about their hinge axis?
