Revit 2023.1 not loading families

I have tried several ways to load some annotations and component families into 2023.1, and I am having no success. I have opened families and tried both the Load into Project and the Load into Project and Close options, and nothing happened except the tone I get when I pick in my Revit project. It is like an option is not happening, and I have to hit the escape button to get out. When I try to load a component with the Load Family option, I don't even get a dialog box.

I have checked this other thread from last January, and this is not the problem. At least the one comment will not fix my problem.

Can you load Family into Project Browser via Insert Tab=>Load Family?

The computer tone is like I get when a message comes into Teams or an email comes in. I have to hit escape to continue in Revit.

Have you considered an Add-in as the culprit?
