Specify area and volume settings

To whom it may concern,

I am preparing a model and analyze heating and cooling loads with Revit 2018.  I am following the next help website:  http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2018/ENU/?guid=GUID-3C15EA1E-9372-4FD7-95DF-296E9647E23E  I assigned spaces to a floorplan and I read that the area and volume computations are required for this analysis.  I saw that the help website suggested to perform the area and volume computations through the Architecture Tab.  But, I realized that the Analysis Tab > Spaces Tab has an area and volume computation function, too.  Could I use this function under the Analysis Tab > Spaces Tab?  Will there be any differences in the results between the Architecture Tab and the Analysis Tab? Any comments will be highly appreciated!

Kind regards,

Yes, check AREA and VOLUME, otherwise Revit will estimate volume in the Analysis.

Dear Mr. BarthBradley,

Thank you for your help!  Just to clarify, you suggested me to check the area and volume in the model before I go ahead with the Area and Volume Computations.  Is this right?  Finally, I will check and select the area and volume under the Architecture Tab > Room & Area panel drop-down > Area and Volume Computations (not the Area and Volume Computations Tab under the Analyze Tab).

Kind regards,

Dear Junne Magalzo,

Thank you for your help! I looked over the link that you sent me.  I also found this other link with extra information about Volume Computations

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2018/EN...

The path concerning the Architecture Tab > Room & Area panel drop-down > Area and Volume Computations is the best option for the Area and Volume calculations.  But, I still have not found about the explanation for the Area and Volume Computations once you select the Spaces under the Analyze tab.  I do not think that both paths are the same.  How much do they differ? Or what does this path mean? Any comments will be highly appreciated!
