SOS - Revit crash when loading in new families

Hello!

Long time browser and user, first time poster. Not bad odds really, considering this is my first major issue. I am an Architecture student from Australia, currently finishing my final project for my studies - but I have hit a road block. Everytime I try to load a new family/component, either by using 'CM' keybind, or by pressing place component, Revit crashes. I have gotten it to the point now where I can get the component browser up, and I can place a component that is already loaded into the project - but whenever I go to load something new, it will load in, and then when I move the cursour out to the model space, Revit then freezes and crashes.

No dialogue about why, just says a fatal error has occurred and it needs to close - sometimes gives the recovery file option, sometimes not.

STEPS TAKEN SO FAR:

Audit - I have audited the model, no issues found there it seems?

Families purge - Exported all families and deleted ones that popped up with constraints etc.

Model purge - Purged unused from the model.

Hardware Accel - I have turned this on and off to see if there is a difference, which there is not.

Revit Journal.txt - I have been keeping track of what is written in the journals, but I cannot seem to find anything that explains the issue? (I will attach the most recent one)

The journal.txt did lead me to a ducting family that looked like it had an issue, which then I deleted the family from my project, and that made Revit let me open the CM command again without crashing, but still crashing when going to place a new component/family.

My PC specs are as follows as well (these are the University computer pool work stations):

Operating System: Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit (10.0, Build 19045) (19041.vb_release.191206-1406)
System Model: Precision 3660
Processor: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900K (24 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Memory: 65536MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 65224MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 12
GPU: NVIDIA RTX A4000

If someone could please help me out, that would be so so so appreciated - this is absolutely doing my head in and I can't figure it out on my own it seems 😞

Thanks so much in advanace!

Try updating Revit. You're on 2025.2 the latest is 2025.4.3

It's possible whatever bug you are experiencing was fixed in one of the updates

Is this a single family or all families?
