I think, indeed, that this is a real problem.
In Site Plans delivered on worksite is necessary to add one ore more Table(s) of Coordinates.
I see here several ways in which I can solve this problem:
- in AutoCAD . This is a quite easy task in AutoCAD by using Data Extraction > Extracting Points and then Fiter by coordinates :X,Y (and Z). The problem is, that , practically you have to Export the Site Plan in Revit for a good result...
- using third parties applications . Several External application, addins for Revit, also can do this . But, of course , you have to make some extra payments for them.
- with Revit instruments. Even if Revit has, for the moment at least, no instrument to gather Spot Coordinates (X,Y values) into a Schedule , so to be able to create a Table of Coordinates, there is a workaround that allows doing this.
So , if I want to do it just in Revit, how can I do it?
- My method consists in using Adaptive Points family (Generic Model Adaptive) with shared parameters
- This method is shown in the attached screencast.
- The screencast is made for the situation when the coordinates are related to Surveyor Coordinates System (origin at 0,0,0) , that's why it looks to be a little more complicated. If , I'll use a Relative Coordinate System (a custom one), then the task is much more simple. I'll need than only to Parameters , X and Y.
