Levels do not match the elevation imported through CAD.

I imported CAD file into revit 2021 then drew the grid lines for level 1. When I shifted to south in project browser and imported elevation CAD file the levels obtained by drawing grids dont match the elevation of CAD. ie level 1 and 2 dont correspond to elevation height simultaneously.

I am new to revit. please help.

@Anonymous Only the plan will share coordinates.

Elevations and sections unfortunately will not share coordinates or elevations such as plans. You will have to move the imported AutoCAD into the correct location to establish elevations.

@Anonymous  Can you attach your example AutoCAD drawings that you have?

I can give you my best attempt to explain some basics. And maybe others can give some advice as well.

One problem is, the answer isn't a easy you do this. You have 2D line work from AutoCAD, in Revit you'll have to move the AutoCAD link into the correct location with reference planes or construction lines from known elevation from the AutoCAD drawing.

I'm not understanding the workflow.

First of all, Levels and Grids are 2 different things. Second, are there Levels and Grids placed in both the DWG and the RVT, and it is these Levels and Grids you are trying to align?   And, are the Levels and Grids are spaced EXACTLY the same in the DWG and RVT? If so, sounds like the mismatch may be related to IMPORT UNITS.

Can you verify that the DWG is scaled accurately?

Can you post the RVT and the DWG?  If so, I can take a look at them and set up the Shared Coordinates for you.
