Some or all of the families selected can not be loaded in Revit LT 2018

Revit LT 2018 was recently installed on my home computer ( windows 10, w/ 12 GB, and 64 bit ). No other computers have opened the file in question. Some families will load, some will not. The 064600 wood trim details will not load, either as the entire folder, or 1 at a time. Please gear you answer / advice towards someone who has been using for about a month. A screen shot of the error message should be attached. thanks.

Are you taking the Architecture>>Component route? A couple of steps to take - 

1) The best way to load families - Insert>>Load Families.All families are not Components

2) Look at your Project Browser, under Families. The families that you have loaded should show up

3) To insert your families - click on the family type that you see in the browser and drag it on to your model. You will be able to place it.

That sounds like good advice, but could not get it to work that way. I
watched a couple more youtube videos, inserted a "profile", and was able to
use that to modify the wall "sweep". In a few weeks I will be able to put
Revit as a 2nd language on my resume'. Thanks for the advice. I'm sure I
will be back for more.

The deal with Revit is if you load a family using a specific button (Component, Column, Beam, etc...) then you must select the family of the specific category.  If you are new and not too familiar with all the categories in Revit, I suggest using the generic Load Family button, or open a library folder with Windows File Browser and drag drop them onto your Revit browser.

With these method, the families are in your project, but you still need to place them in your model by going from the Family browser.
