snapping 3D modelling to linework

I want to accurately move some 3D modelling to linework in a linked .dwg file.

The way I want to do this is to snap the move command to point 1 and move the 3D geometry to point 2 -

As far as I can see I have snapping turned on:

I can snap to the linked dwg linework but not the 3D geometry.

Can anyone help me work out why?

TIA

Not sure I understand. Revit is noun/verb selection. So if you want to move "A" to "B", you would need to select the entire Element that "A" is attached to, then press "Move", then select "A" and then select "B".  TAB-Selection may be required.
