Partially depends on the clock speed of your processor, but mostly on the graphics card and what you've got in the model.  The 2000-series Quadro cards are pretty low level.

Of course, if "The computer is slow when I do _____", then the somewhat-flippant answer is "Then don't do _____".  You're not going to get the same performance for higher-quality as you do for lower quality.

Hi @Anonymous

Sorry to hear about your slow down issues especially while rendering in in the realistic mode.

By default the realistic mode significantly slows down model navigation, especially in detailed models since this mode uses the render appearance asset defined in each material.

I recommend that you follow Best Practices: Render Performance and the Building Model. Click HERE for more information.

  • Hide unnecessary model elements
  • Change the detail level
  • Reduce the view area to render

Please see system requirements for the Revit product line HERE

Autodesk tests system hardware, graphics hardware and drivers. Check HERE for more information on graphics cards.
