Site plans view settings in Revit

Dear all

I have a problem which I tried to fix but no luck so far. I made a site plan view using floor plan, applied template (VIEW - View templates -Applied template properties to Current view) because I didnt have default site plan view. The end result was I can see my entire floor plan view with its internal design floor plan view such as toilets, rooms, seatings, along with the grid lines instead of the overall shape of the building. My project is multistory high rise building. I dont know how to solve this site plan view issue. Please help me to solve this problem.

Best regards

1.Change the view range for that view.

2.Hide the building elements....keep only the site in that view.

You just need to ensure the Cut Plan is higher than the highest element in your model. You will then look down on everything

Kind regards,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I used View range, Cut Plane, I put the desired height, and it works. But I got the another problem which is my VG, and some other configuration in properties (view range) got greyed out. How should I fix this?

And can you tell me more about not showing my grid lines in site view?

Thank you again.

Best regards

Have you, by any chance assigned a view template to the view? If a view template is assigned, some things get grayed out, like ViewRange. Maybe add a screenshot of the situation at the moment.

Kind regards

Yes, thank you so much for your reply.

I went to View range - Cut plane, and offset - put desired height, and it works. Thank you again, though I have 1 more problem which is some of my VG, and settings in Properties got greyed out, and even the visual display menu such as (hide temporary, visual style, detail level (realistic, wireframe etc), scaling etc - below support menu) got greyed out. How should I solve this?

Thank you again.

Best regards

Yes, I applied View templates - Apply Template Properties to Current view, which from there I choose Site plan and hit apply.

Here I put the Screen shot.

You can "apply" View Template Properties to a View OR you can LOCK a View to a certain set of View Template Properties- this would cause a selection of your view properties / view control bar buttons to then be inaccessible.

This will explain the use of View Templates

and.....

This will explain the use of Visibility / Graphic Overrides (ie your grid lines in your site plan and how to turn them off, etc)

Kind regards,
Ian
