Site grading in 2024 with Toposolid is worse than it was as a toposurface, if that's possible. Having to use points to create and modify contour lines for site grading is absurd.

Toposolid is soooo slow 'cuz Revit is constantly triangulating between points. It draws contour lines between points at corners, curves and swales even more aggressively than it did before. The graphics when adding points is terrible, as the triangulation, or folding lines are shown, and Revit snaps to these lines - which don't mean anything. You can't see the contour lines that will be created with points until you exit out of the modify sub elements command. Definitely NOT a step forward when it comes to site grading. It's painful, so so painful.

Being on the bleeding edge of software use is not always a great idea. Hence the blood. R24's release was mired with so many issues and we endured those issues because we adopted it a few months after release. R25 was better but we still took awhile to get it out just because there was a lot of other stuff going on.

I understand that. Hiding the display of them doesn't make the slope and contour errors go away though and the fractured nature of the surface remains in 3D views too. Contour lines, spot elevations and grades remain completely inaccurate and useless.

The nightmare that was the R24 launch seems atypical. Yea, there can be minor annoyances with every release, but R24 was unusable because of the schema issues.

I agree with larger firms, but it's just me.  I'm a lone wolf, so I basically get to do whatever I want.  lol

I figured something out with a lot of testing. Point placement goes much smoother if your Toposolid does not have any cuts applied to it. Like when you cut a foundation out of the toposolid. So I guess save all your Toposolid cutting for last.

Ughhh, why do I see all of the toposolid points when I edit it in a section! I just want to see the points that are actually visible in the section.
