Any time frame for site designer 2016. Shame to give it out with 2015.R2 and take it away with 2016. Smiley Frustrated

Just as it was in Revit 2015 r2, it's not automatically included.  Site Designer is considered a Subscription benefit.  Log into Subscription Center and it should be there available to "add-on" to Revit 2016.  If its not in Sub Center yet, check back often as it should go live at any time now.

Just when I really need it, I upgrade to 2016 and Site Designer is not there.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your prompt reply. Site designer 2016 now installed.

I think there is a bug with the user input dialogue boxes. When locating / creating soft terrain the offset levels don't seem to work as expected (as in 2105). When modifying soft terrain, changing the elevation etc, again the input value does not reflect in object being changed. This is making it unusable.

Any one else having this issue. (all metric <mm> models )

Site Designer for Revit 2016 is not working. At all. Period.

I am working on a new project, created in Revit 2016. I was able to create a base topo surface in Site Designer, but that’s it – I can’t use any of the tools. They are not working at all.

When placing a Soft Terrain at constant elevation, the elevation is at 0'-0", not the elevation I specified. When trying to modify said soft terrain, the elevations at each point will not change, they stay at 0'-0". The grading is a complete mess, not only because the elevation is at 0, but it seems the triangulation is all screwed up.

When looking at the undo drop down, Site Designer is creating 3 separate actions for placing one soft terrain, so I have to undo 3 actions. In past version – both Site Designer for 2015 and Site Works 2013 & 2014 - this was never the case.

The Feature Line tool does not work at all. I get a “Ribbon – Error” stating: “The given value for value is not finite. Parameter name: value”

The Point Wipeout tool does not work at all. I get a “Ribbon – Error” stating: “Object reference not set to an instance of an object”

I haven’t bothered trying to use the other tools, and they are not very useful to me for the type of work I do. The Retaining Wall tool has always been so buggy that it’s nearly useless  anyway.

This is just another slap in the face from Autodesk. It’s bad enough that Revit doesn’t have useful site tools that allow us to manipulate topo and do earth work, but at least Site Works by Eagle Point worked to some degree. Now the app is not even working at all. I’m looking at having to re-created everything in 2015 because I know that works. Or at least it did…

Feeling your pain here,

I resisted upgrading to '16 until the add ons were available. Now its costing me big time.

Autodesk are happy to take your money for subscriptions year after year but cant provide a platform that works. Too bad I cant bill them for the 2 hours I just spent trying to get my levels right. Will now have to do manually and hope it gets fixed soon.

Please fix it ASAP!

Back to 2015 for now with any projects that haven't been ruined by "upgrading" - it would be great if you could re-save to previous release so these things can be fixed without days lost. Hint Hint

Hi,

Yes, I have the same problems.

‘Feature Line’ error: The given value for value is not finite Parameter name: value

‘Soft Terrain’ does not respond to the input value. It put the new Topo Surface Points only at 0.

I also think there is a bug with the user input dialogue boxes. It now put the ‘mm’ after the value and a separation dot in another place:

2015: 5000.0

2016: 5,000 mm

(Both are set to 0 decimal places)

Another thing that should be fixed is the compatibility with Metric Users. His was also a problem in the 2015 version. By changing the region setting I Windows to English (USA) this make the ‘Feature Line’ work. The error: input is not in the correct format. This is working fine in the Siteworks version 2015 by the way.

The last thing is the settings dialogue box resets every time you open it.

Kind regards,

Hi Steve,

I got the same issue, when i import a landxml the levels are way of. It looks like it took the N/S value but then with a '-'.. (in Dutch coördinates). All metric.

Any idea if there is a fix already? Since it's been a couple of month's..

tnx

We have been waiting over 2 months without any response. Can we expect a fix at all?

mlh,

I haven't responded in the forum, but the current version given by the app-store resolved my problem.

Somehow they gave it the same versionnr. (1.0), but with a new date, a collegue of mine noticed. So we tested it and it worked...

Hi mwullink, I don't see any changes. Feature Line gift an Error (don't start) and Soft Terrain put the result on level 0.0 regardless value. But thx for the reply. Maybe it's just a Metric Bug? I downloaded the latest version from the app-store, and I still have the same problems with Site Designer not working in Revit 2016. I am having all of the same issues as described above.

I've paid for my subscription for Building Design Suite Ultimate 2016, and I cannot use Revit 2016 because Autodesk's add-on software does not work. I cannot believe that they find this acceptable. As an architect who works on projects with steep slopes, I need to have software that can manipulate ground, but I don't need something as big and complex - and expensive - as Civil 3D. Revit's native site tools are not a comprehensive solution.

The problems with Site Designer need to be fixed to work with the most recent releases of Revit.

Just reluctantly paid my subscription for last year to beat the cutoff dealine.

I downloaded site designer only to find these issues still haven't been fixed.

I realise it is an add-on but if the same issues persist after 12 months, why offer it.

Cannot change the street width.

Totally unusable.

I recently downloaded version 2016.1.1.0, dated 4/12/16. I uninstalled the previous version before installing the newest. It appears to work in Revit 2016. I only did a couple of basic tests in 2016, but seems to be functioning normally. Thanks Autodesk for finally getting it working again.

BUT...

Site Designer is not even loading in Revit 2017. I called my reseller, but they don't know wnaything about it yet.

Will it be available for Revit 2017? When???

Add-ins tend to trickle in later after the release.  Hence my bet pool for when Worksharing Monitor is available.  Last year I think it was about 3 months.
