Sink Cut out

What is considered to be the best way to get a sink family to cut a hole in the countertop that you place it in?  There are several nice Revit sink families out there that don't cut a hole in the surface that you place them on.  When I go into the family to add a cut opening, it is grayed out.  How can I add the cut out or void  in these sink families?  I have added voids, but to no avail.

Thanks for any help with this.  It must be perplexing to more folks than me. . .

After adding a void to the sink family, you need to open Family Category and Parameter window and check the [Cut with Void when loaded] box. Upon placing the sink to top of the countertop, use Cut command on the Modify menu to cut the hole. You can also nest the sink to the countertop family as well.
