is there anyway to get a live view reference to reference an entire sheet rather than a particular detail within that sheet.

References always need to point to a specific view.

Perhaps place an "empty view" with no view title?  That would kind of do it but you will still have the view number, not just the sheet number.

tried that then change the detail number to sheet number this is what i ge             it works just ends up with double sheet number

Got it made a small mark in a view placed it on sheet  named it SHEET so though if you double click it takes you to the small mark, at least it says SHEET/S5.0
