Shared parameter on Elevations Marks

Shared parameter on Elevations Marks

Hello there.

I have the following problem:

I have a Shared parameter for my sheets and views called "Titleblock Sheet Number" This parameter replaces de actual "Sheet Number" default Revit parameter (this is because we need to use the same number for differents sheets in our projects).

I have created a New Family for Sections Tags and Elevation Marks to show this "Titleblock sheet number" instead of the Revit default "Sheet Number" parameter.

In the Section Tags the shared parámeter works fine. But the problem is on the Elevation Mark where the sahred parameter doesn't even show once loaded into project.

Please can anyone tell me what am I missing? Eelvation tags shared parameter.png

Are you sure the Elevation View has that Parameter filled in with a value?

...if the PP/SP is assigned to Sheets and Views, it's an Instance Parameter.

instead of creating shared parameter you can show as reference view.

Yes The elevation has a filled value in the parameter. and the parameter is an instance parameter.

I have checked the label on the elevation mark family and it´s showing the correct value but not in the project. Eelvation tags shared parameter.png

Okay, I can't seem replicate your issue. Sorry. Verify my workflow:

1. Created new Elevation Mark Pointer Family with the Shared Parameter. I followed the workaround I posted above to a TEE.  Not a hair was left out of place.

2. Inserted New Elevation Mark Pointer Family into the Elevation Mark Body Family and all four Pointers changed to reflect changes made to the Elevation Mark Pointer Family.  Yes, they showed the SP Sample Value.

3. Loaded Elevation Mark Body Family into Project and created a New Project Parameter using the same Shared Parameter I put into the Pointer Family.  Assigned PP/SP to Sheet and View Categories.

4. Placed an Elevation Marker in Plan View

5. Switched to the Elevation View Created by the Marker, and typed in a Value into the View PP/SP field.

6. Switch back to Plan View and saw the Elevation Marker was displaying the Value I entered into the PP/SP field in Step #5.

Don't no what else to say.  Just hope something I did said, helps you resolve.

Thanks for the detailed reply.

I have followed the same workflow as you. And Resolve the label limitation with the workaround you posted before. If it´s working for you it should work for me.

I´ll do it again from scratch on a new project to see if it works. I have already try it in two different ongoing projects with the same result.

Thanks again.
